Jessica is a digital media professional and journalist based in Toronto. She writes frequently about business, finance consumer trends and the Canadian innovation economy. She's currently working as an Associate Editor with LowestRates.ca, Canada's largest rate comparison site. Previously, she spent two years as a National Online Journalist with Globalnews.ca, where she covered global business and economic trends.
Jessica has been a journalist since the age of 15, when she talked the editors of a local paper into giving her a monthly column. Since then, her work has been seen in outlets like Techvibes, MobileSyrup, the Financial Post and CBC Radio, among others. In 2017, she graduated from the Ryerson School of Journalism, where she specialized in multimedia journalism. She’s currently pursuing her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at Ryerson’s Ted Rogers School of Management.
She’s worked in a wide variety of digital mediums. Before joining Global, she spearheaded the Business section for Canada’s largest technology news site, MobileSyrup.com. During her time there, she reported on quarterly earnings reports, IPOs, major investments and other strategic moves made by major Canadian and American tech companies. She also wrote often about Canada’s innovation policy, the rise of artificial intelligence, and the changing face of Canadian transportation through ride sharing and autonomous cars.
